On behalf of Levanger Hospital we’re looking for a specialist in medical microbiology for a permanent full-time position.

The microbiology section is responsible for microbiological diagnostics for both hospitals in North-Trøndelag. The hospital, located centrally in Levanger, provides fantastic recreational opportunities year-round.

Levanger boasts good public transportation, situated approximately 45 km from Trondheim Airport, Værnes.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide medical expertise in various areas of microbiological diagnostics.
  • Participate in regional and national professional networks.
  • Contribute to the development of medical microbiology in North-Trøndelag through interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Attend internal and external meetings on strategy and professional assessments.
  • Train, guide, and provide internal education to biomedical scientists and medical residents.
  • Emphasize research and development.
  • Ensure adherence to infection control, reporting procedures, resistance monitoring, and antibiotic use.

Qualifications:

  • Specialist in medical microbiology.
  • Medical license and specialist approval from an EU country.
  • Professionally updated.
  • Strong data skills.
  • Good communication skills in English, and motivated to learn Norwegian
